Not related to RGI, but similar. I just finished reading the book Pacific Trading Cards Owner Michael Cramer put out a couple years back. He described buying Topps closeouts, buying SEMI trucks full and storing them. It's mind boggling to even think about now, but when I used to visit his retail store and get his mail order catalogs, he was selling a lot of stuff for very cheap, for a very long time because he had so much of it. I vaguely remember buying 1984 Topps Football boxes at $5 each. I don't recall the year, but they would not have been too much older, as I left for the Navy in 1987. they had the heavy black markings on the box to show they were not original retail boxes.
