Well it's pretty clearly a photo from Spring Training. Maybe someone here is an arborist or dendrologist who can narrow down the locale from the background-- or just someone familiar with trees, which excludes me

I don't think that's Florida or Bear Mountain. The trees seem too lush for either, especially the latter in March.

I think it's definitely Vero late 40's. The artificial hill/mound that surrounded Holman is visible and there were numerous deciduous trees after it opened and the root bases under his armpit and by the foot look like palms.

OK, maybe a palm tree base off to the right? Found this online, 1947 Havana, no palms visible, although they appear in other Havana shots:

I think the other thread was about a bunch of similar photos. That script name style was ubiquitous to the late 1940s and early 1950s and was used a lot by National Studios in its work.
