“Too rare to price” is not equal to “high price”. Demand will determine that. So what you need to see is how much demand there is for something like this. An auction with no minimum bid would probably be the quickest way to find out. Congrats on your variation!

Getting a gauge on the current value of a 54 Ernie Banks or a 33 Goudey Ruth in any almost any condition except the best is easy, but you got a rare card of a highly collected player in a still hot vintage market. If you find the right eyeballs with the right wallets in the right place and time things can get fun. You never know when you're going to luck into a weird bidding war as a seller. There's also one with number that sold on ebay for a 450 buy it now. I agree that a low starting bid auction would get a true value, but do it somewhere where it would get a lot of eyeballs. If you try to list it yourself it might end up cheap, but somebody who has a good following might get a lot more. All it takes is 2 people who want it.
