Bid number 3 was $1,688.66. That seems more indicative of real value.

That was my bid or the bid I was trying to enter manually with two seconds but it like blew up and I didn't even think it took.

Personally, it hurts a lot less when I lose a tough item by a huge gap like this. When it’s a single bid up (or less), it stings. let’s see if the buyer pays, this might be up for sale again soon.

If two people wanted it that bad then an assumption is that IF another card (same condition) comes up, then the bidding on that one will probably be in the neighborhood of the max bid by the second under bidder (about $1700).

Looks like about 6 people interested in it at the $1K level (or more).

There seem to be a lot of serious back collectors.

Winner was over 500, underbidder was over 6,000.

In the thread "low population" was mentioned as the probable reason for the high bids.

An assumption is that there must be some type of reference guide that provides T206 populations based on backs. Can someone provide a link to that resource.

If it's PSA (or any TPG) pop report, then those have got to be a bit unreliable because I don't think PSA (or other TPG) registered T206 backs for years and I don't know if they do so on a standardized basis now. You would hope they started to do that at some point in time.
