I did a quick search here:
http://photoarchive.lib.uchicago.edu...se=browse5.xml if you scroll down you can see the different teams by years starting in 1893 for the University of Chicago. I clicked on some random years and don't see players in a uniform with the C logo on it. I my brief search, the uniforms say "Chicago" on them. You might want to take a closer look.
