You'd be surprised at how readily the junk wax HOFers and popular players like Mattingly sell at shows, if you put them up at the right price. I moved yards of stuff like that, literally yards, at a show in August. Priced the biggest names at at buck, the rest at $0.25-$0.50 and discounted a bit over $20 spent and people just cleaned them out. Flea markets and swap meets too. I was at a flea market last month and a guy had several 3200 count boxes of cards priced right, and people were all over it. I succumbed to temptation and ended up picking through and grabbing a bunch of 1990s Michael Jordan cards I didn't have. A stack of career contemporary Michael Jordan cards for a few bucks? Why not?

Your enjoyment factor far outdistanced the few dollars.
I tell people that message me looking for cards, if I don't have them, hunting for them is a lot, of not most, of the fun.

For many years, I volunteered at the Salvation Army in Dallas. I would bring sacks of junk cards for the kids up there. They loved them and it gave them something to do.

I have a few gaps in the 83-85 sets, and some stuff I look for if I get a big batch.

Outside of the usual Topps, I have gaps in most sets. I wouldn't mind having a big batch of cards show up, especially if I could pass it along once I've gone through it.

Give them to Tim Carroll. I'm sure he could use them.

given the excellent interest in my post, I have decided to provide an itemization of what I am sending:

1) 2 opened wax boxes filled with 1990 Score Hockey, approximately 1000 cards All the Lindros, Jagr and Brodeur cards have been removed
2) One 800 count box labeled "Premium baseball: 89-92 upper deck, 91-92 stadium club, 90-93 Leaf, 92 Pinnacle. i must have consolidated this box, because it also includes 81 Fleer, 84 fleer, and 82 Donruss. I flipped through and there is an 84 fleer Sandberg/Carew/Esasky(r). The latter was a hot card at one point. in 86 there is a Gooden, Eckersley, multiple Glenn Davis rookies (also hot at one point)
3) A smaller stash of 85 and 86 fleer. Some 80s heroes included: Steve Sax, Jessie Barfield, Rafael Santana, andy van slyke
4) one 800 count box - 50% 84-86 topps and 50% early 90s basketball

Most of these are unopened boxes I ripped during Covid, all cards are essentially NM, I am sure a few Gems.
