Nice job Chris, congrats. What's the next team to tackle?

Thanks, guys. It’s a fun project. Secondary goal is to get at least 1 copy of each back (minus Ty Cobb) in the master set. We’ll see how that plays out.

As for the next team to tackle, I’m closest on the Reds - 11/23 with no duplicate backs. If you see any brown Hindu, AB 460, or Cycle 460 Reds for sale, let me know!

Carrigan with the red background really stands out amidst all the blue. Congratulations!

I like that. And having done that by a team, you seem quite happy with it. Great!

110 years ago collectors weren't gathering these cards and sorting them by Beckett numbers... the cards were sorted by team, and then alphabetically. Bert Sugar's The Sports Collectors Bible have these cards sorted by team, and then alphabetically by name. There were 4 editions of this useful book, the 4th is best, followed closely by the 3rd. You can affordably find them on eBay, ABEBOOKS, and Alibris. Great books for lots of reasons, but specifically helpful when collecting them by team.

If you remove a team of T206s from the sheets and sort them by series, 150, 350,460, then look at the fronts, you can see the uniform and pose changes to better learn the backs by looking at the fronts; eg, most of the portraits are on series 150 cards.

I see Speaker in a slab. When I've got a card that I haven't yet broken it out of a slab, I see if I can find a reprint card to fill the space in the binder sheet.

I look forward to seeing the next team!

It is always fun to see another approach to collecting T206...and this particular T206 route should be a fun challenge.

Cool, Chris!
Might I suggest the next team for ya (meant in fun);
The Dallas Giants!
I completed it a while back; putting together the story of why Molly is in the set in the first place.

Default 2nd Team Set with 0 Duplicate Backs Complete!

As some of you may remember, my goal for completing the set of 520 is to have as few duplicate backs per team set as possible. Following up on Boston (AL) from last year I just completed Washington with 0 duplicate backs:

Groom: Carolina Brights
Ganley: Hindu
Elberfield (fielding): Pied 460/42
Milan: Cycle 350
Unglaub: American Beauty 350
Gray: EPDG
Schaeffer: Sov 460
Johnson (hands at chest): Sweet Cap 460/42
Brown: Sov 350
Delehanty: Sweet Cap 150 OP
Shipke: Sov 150
Street (fielding): Old Mill
Tannehill: Polar Bear
Conroy (fielding): Sweet Cap 150/30
Elberfeld (Wash): Sweet Cap 350/25
Conroy (with bat): Pied 460/25
McBride: Sweet Cap 350/30
Johnson (portrait): Pied 150
Street (portrait): Pied 350

Like Boston, so many Net54 members helped me along the way. Thanks to Jay K and Luke, where many of the cards came from; Ryan C. for the Johnson I needed; Kris S. Where I got the first few from this team; Eric S, who helped me finish up with Ganley; and Wazoo, who I didn’t get any cards from, but who put me hot on trail of Elberfeld and Unglaub.

Another example of this site making collecting so much more enjoyable.

On to the next team!
