Default I Used To Own This Pre War Card

And now I do again....

The one on the left is from the, long ago, Trucker Boy Find...

(I hope others will post some of theirs too!)

It happens. I traded for a card recently and when I checked the cert, I realized that I was the one who had it slabbed about a million years ago.

I know a lot of members re-acquire cards. I think it's quite normal for the collector gene. I paid approximately 4x what I paid for this card, the first time I bought it. Just happy to have it and the few others back....

Leon cool that you got it back in your collection.

Both cards pictured are graded SGC-40's, though the one you snagged appears much higher & desirable

Thanks. I am hoping others will show some of theirs too.

The Arrelanes has a telltale stain on the back that most of the D311s in that group had.

I got this back after my collection sale, here on the BST, for $275

Sold a t2o6 lot of about 70 off-backs a few years back (big mistake, lol). Was ecstatic to reaquire this Hindu Lafitte for my current run at it (paid 2 to 3xs the original purchase price of course).

Actually the D311 Melchoir is more desirable, as it has the mysterious Obak back with the fanciful player writeup.

Default E221

When you sell your whole collection, after 20 yrs of excessive collecting, there is a lot to get back. One of my best re-acquisitions, though I paid through the nose to get them back. It's just money, right? I got them privately as if they went to auction, and one of the many wealthy collectors wanted them, then I would be shut out as is happening every day now.

ps...always looking for more!

I’ve always admired those Leon. What kind of stock are those on, paper or card like?

I used to own this W516-1 Babe Ruth itty bitty corner card, but now it has been reunited with its larger portion, which I also used to own about 10-12 years ago. Both are with that big portion collector now.

Brian (maybe not quite on topic, but it is the best I can do...cards that leave me never seem to want to return)

Way back when in the Full Count days, I used to hold a T5 Pinkerton of Cobb, blank backed with legendary early collector Buck Barker's stamped name and address. When I bailed in 2003, I thought this treasure was gone forever but it resurfaced in a LOTG auction and I snagged it. It just gives me a happy feeling that i have shared this card with Buck.

This was my first Drum, but I sold it when I found a nicer Willis, then later sold that when I got a different one. Really happy that I was able to re-acquire this one.
