Default Best George Sisler card for HOF collection?

I would be very interested to see some nominations from members here regarding which George Sisler card would be a great “one and only“ card to add to my HOF “Set” quest.

I’ve just only begun my research and his 1921 exhibit initially caught my eye. I like the horizontal photo and the staged ball in glove looks classic and old timey.

Which other playing day George Sisler cards would you suggest?

I agree that the American Caramel e121 is his best card. My favorite anyway.

But if $$ is an issue, I lean towards, "interesting" (RE: Mike's post above). It can still be found in the $100 range. The Brits however didn't use a photo of Sisler to make their "Baseball" card art. He is only referenced on the back by name; an example of excellence in the American game.

Interesting the Brits show George batting right handed when he was a left handed first baseman.

Sisler has some attractive looking cards (E120/W573/V61 is also really nice), even most of his strip cards are in my opinion pretty attractive, like his W514, W515, W551. My favorite is his W503 card, which despite its designation, is not a strip card.

One card to avoid is his W9316 card...ouch!

Brian (sadly the W9316 shown is mine, not the W503)

My favorite also as I have a Rawlings GS model first base mitt that displays well with the card.

Gorgeous "placeholder"! Does that have the Sporting News back or did they just label it that way?

I added a scan of the back.

I use the term "placeholder" as I only allow myself one of each -- not implying that I'm looking for an upgrade. I do often swap cards out and have no problem with a lower number on the flip. Scott
