Any idea how SGC handles cards that PSA deems 'miscut'? Not the MC qualifier, but returned ungraded "N8: MISCUT"? I have a few of those that came out of the pack that way, but PSA rejected them...which is weird. Would love to get them slabbed, but don't want to waste the money if SGC sees them the same way. Guess I could send pics to the guy I was talking to for awhile over there.

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

SGC slabs them as authentic.

Thank you. I did just send pics over to them, described the issues and asked questions. SGC is usually really good about getting back to me quickly, so I'll see if a number possibly lies at the end of the grading rainbow. Damn tilted cards!!!

They would either get an "AUTHENTIC: Miscut" or "AUTHENTIC: Minimum size not met."

Maybe.,....maybe not....I have had "miscuts" get a number grade from SGC. It all depends on the eyes.

I like PSA and SGC. BVG is a no-go for me. Hate the thicker case, and that stupid penny sleeve in the case which always becomes wrinkled.

I like them both, but I prefer PSA due to the resale value.

I have six 1911 Mecca Double Folders I've wanted to get slabbed for a while.

I'd include those if they'd take them. Not sure if the size works.

PRICING FOR OVERSIZED RAW CARD GRADING, CROSSOVERS AND REVIEWS
Oversized items are larger than 3 ½ " x 5 ½ "

And I looked at the pricing. It is OUTRAGEOUS!!! $100 minimum.

Not to mention sgc doesn't slab 8x10 which is outrageously stupid.
I love sgc but I hope they can start covering the niches again like they used to. And maybe even expand into photos, they are becoming nearly as popular as cards.

The massive turnaround of standard size modern and standard vintage has made them lazy in terms of broadening horizons again. With turnaround being sometimes less than a day from the time sgc get your cards to the time they're shipped back you would think they would've already announced some changes like this.

Quick google search shows this

The T201 Mecca Double Folders series were beautifully lithographed tobacco insert card released in 1911. The artistically rendered creations total 50 cards, each measuring approximately 2-1/4" by 4-11/16"

And I see plenty on Ebay in SGC slabs. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see what they say.

The size you listed is smaller than what they said constitutes oversized. You can call to confirm, but that is what my take is on it.

Default Timing?

Hey Bobby, any idea when you need to have this wrapped up and submitted? Need to actually go through my stuff since I have not submitted anything in about six years, no idea what I may have (!).

Worth grading, that is...

That is completely irrelevant. It is about the cash when you sell them and nothing else.

You got that right. My main appeal is the fact that you can have the cards back in approximately two weeks versus quite a long wait for PSA.

So selling raw cards at PSA graded prices on Facebook didn't work out?

Since it is all about the cash. You need to figure out what cards not to send to SGC because they do bring way less SGC graded. I recently got lucky and bought 3 rare cards really cheap because they were in SGC slabs.

Hey Bobby,

I think we have enough. There are several people wanting to submit 20 cards.
