I saw this cap for auction.... I didn't get it but as a learning opportunity... how likely is this to actually have been legit?

As a cap collector, I stay away from paying anything extra for caps with attributions to superstars. It seems like every other Pirate cap was Clemente's and every other Yankee cap was Mantle's. On the other hand, I have a KM Pro Reds cap with no attribution that was sold as such, but it has a No. 5 written under the bill. It's also the biggest cap in my collection, and since Johnny Bench had big head, too, I suppose it's possible it was his. But in general, I'm skeptical of attribution claims — I have too much fun collecting caps to deal with the extra expense and worry. I like them because they display so well.
