Imagine opening a UZIT cigarette pack in the Spring of 1911 and finding a T206 card and a T80 card !
At the beginning of 1911, American Lithographic launched their Gold-Border series of cards. The T80 cards depicting worldwide Military subjects was one of the first issues. The artwork of the T80 cards is very distinctive, and their gold borders are quite ornate. By the Spring of 1911, T206 card production had ended. ATC instructed Factory #30 to insert the remaining T206 UZIT cards with the T80 UZIT cards in the UZIT packs. This is illustrated in this link....... https://www.net54baseball.com/showth...highlight=uzit ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() TED Z T206 Reference . |

OK Net54er's......we've increased the tally to 24 different UZIT cards. We have at least 36 different more UZIT's to go.
I'm especially pleased to see the Hummel and Crandall UZIT cards. I have been working on a run of the Exclusive 12 subjects (156 cards total). These two guys are in this group. Great card, evergreen1988, thanks for posting it. Quote:
To date, your Crandall is one of only 5 subjects in the Exclusive 12 group confirmed with UZIT. Furthermore, I will include my McGraw/UZIT (Exclusive 12 group). It is a unique T206. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 460-only series......Exclusive 12 group ![]() ![]() TED Z T206 Reference . |

If you're only going to have one, that's a pretty good "one" to have.

Just a little bit of humor to provide a friendly bump here.
In my wild imagination, I fantasize of finding this Cobb with a T80 UZIT back on it. This may seem improbable but the UZIT press runs of both the T206 and T80 cards were approximately the same time (circa early 1911). Besides, Cobb has been quoted as saying to the effect...." Baseball is like War ! " So, here is "General Cobb" wielding his "weapon of War" ![]() ![]() ![]() TED Z T206 Reference . Last edited by tedzan; 08-19-2022 at 06:51 PM. Reason: Corrected typo. |

That sole T80 military Uzit example needs some backup. The Uzit brand was equally as tough to find for this series! Shoot me a PM if you're interested in a type card.
