Peter Noonan (close enough), 1st Baseman and Catcher for the A's, Cubs, Cardinals (1904 - 1907).

Peter Noone....lead singer of Herman's Hermits.

I appreciate you guys playing along with this "name-game" stuff.

One Rock group not represented here in this thread is the "Chicago Transit Authority" (Chicago) because none of its members' names coincide with
baseball players names.
Nevertheless, Chicago's music style blends Rock with Jazz. And it is my all-time favorite group. I've been to their concerts several times since 1973.

OK....why not tell us about your favorite Rock group ?

Circa 1990 there were actually 2 Mike Smith's who were baseball pitching prospects and whilst neither did much in the majors they both had cards
