HAPPY 4th of JULY.....enjoy celebrating this historic event when we declared our Independence from the British 246 years ago.
The start of this realization first occurred 6 months later on Christmas eve....when George Washington and his troops crossed the Delaware River on their way to Trenton, NJ. Prior to that famous event, Washington had not had a significant victory over the British troops. The battle of Trenton was our 1st significant victory. Following victories in Princeton, Morristown, New York, Valley Forge (and subsequent battles) gained us momentum which resulted in our winning the Revolutionary War. .
