There's Billy Powell who played keyboard for Lynyrd Skynyrd and William Henry Powell that played in the Negro Leagues for the Birmingham Black Barons between 1946 and 1950.

Default rock / baseball

How about a " two way " star -
1960s Lee Maye....played pro ball, and also was lead singer for a doo wop group and a bit of a solo career

Default OT fun....Post BB players whose NAME coincides with Rock singers of 1950's - 1980's

John Fogerty....Lead singer of Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Jim Fogerty......Infielder/Outfielder for the Phillies (1895 - 1890).

Consider this, guys....Jim may have been John's "Grandfather" ?

You are laughing at my "speculation"

Well, perhaps this isn't so far-fetched. They both hail from San Francisco

My girlfriend and I laugh whenever I'm playing John Fogerty's stuff. As stated, he's from out here in northern California...where the land is the furthest thing from a swamp as you could possibly get. It's basically a desert with palm trees, mountains and scorched earth. Swamp rock???? Ha ha ha!!!!!! But, man, he has always sold it beautifully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.
