A stamp collector I contacted thinks the lighter one is a counterfeit. I am not sure what it is. Seems like a ridiculous effort to make a counterfeit that doesn't even look like the original.
Anyhow, moving on, I did not know about this E282 variation until I ran across it:

Here is an Oh Boy checklist of 31 cards. I'd guess the variation is part of the set to make it an even 32 cards.
