Babe and the Mrs. This picture always reminds me of those candy wrappers depicting Ruth. Cool topic....

Not my favorite player but can't let Rich Rollins and Don Rudolph be the only ones with hot wives. The second photo is of Ruth Ryan taken with other Mets wives in 1968. There used to be a 1973 wire photo of Jerry Reuss and his newlywed wife on eBay but unfortunately I didn't keep a scan and I can't find it now. She was smokin'.

Cliff,
Ruth Ryan was indeed a cute one.
She also was a TX state tennis champion. Great athlete as well...

BTW, she encouraged Nolan to stick with pitching, believing in his talent early in Nolan's career when he was ready to toss in the towel while a member of the Mets.
Her steadfast support and belief in Nolan was definitely a major factor in him having the success that he did over his 27 year HOF career.

Default Lou and Eleanor

My favorite (more poignant) photo of one of baseball's best couples, IMO. And although their love story was short-lived, their enduring commitment was honored for decades.

I have the photo displayed with a secretarial Lou autograph, signed by Eleanor, mailed to a fan in October of 1939.
