I don't own this, but it's my favorite picture of a favorite player and his wife. I've met Rich Rollins and he's a super nice guy. I love this picture.

As seen in the 1972 Phillies yearbook. Possibly the greatest picture ever taken.

Those are a couple of serious 'Fros!
One time when Oscar Gamble was a member of the Cleveland Indians they were pulling into the parking lot in Anaheim in their team bus.
The "Big A" marquee stated that Nolan Ryan would be pitching that night.
Oscar Gamble stood up on the bus and announced to the team "A good night today would be an 0-4 and not get hit!"

Classic!

That’s awesome! As a five year old, in one of my first packs of cards, I got the 1975 Topps Oscar Gamble. Instant favorite player.

Jackie's last public appearance. Game 2 of the '72 series. Honoring the 25th anniversary of breaking the color barrier. Jackie would die 8 days later. As always, Rachel by his side.

“The 1962 season was also memorable for Rollins outside of baseball. “I was rooming in Minneapolis in ’62. One o’clock at night, I get this knock on the door. I’m up reading a book; I’m the only one in the apartment and this gal is at the door, in tears, and her father had just been killed in an automobile accident. She just needed someone to talk to. She knocked on the door, and we went out for coffee. We got back at 3 o’clock in the morning, and that was the first time I met her.”8 On February 9, 1963, Rollins and former United Airlines stewardess Lynn Maher of Newport Beach, California, were married. They had three sons and three daughters, who presented them with 11 grandchildren.”

Myself, Bill Stoneman and his lovely Wife Diane.

On the flight that brought the Expos to Montreal after they opened the 1969 season on the road, Stoneman met Diane Falardeau, an Air Canada stewardess, as they were called in those days. He offered her two tickets to an Expos game and she went, even though she didn’t know anything about baseball. It seemed that fastballs worked better than fast talk, and they were married in December 1969. They have two children, daughter Jill and son Jeff.
