The 50-game PED suspension Nelson Cruz served will weigh heavier on his HOF chances than his home run total.

I think Stanton is a guy who it all comes down to what he does next...it's a good start, but 45 WAR doesn't get an outfielder into the Hall of Fame...at least not very often (Rice had 47.7 and is the borderline of borderlines).

If he can add positive value and play several more years, he'll have a shot. A few more really productive seasons, and he might get over the line.

It worked for Oliva.

But I agree, Stanton has a ways to go, perhaps a long ways. I just wagered $300 he will get there. No, I didn't make a bet, I bought a rookie card lol.

The loss of the 2019 and most of the 2020 seaon hurt him and others who are on a " cusp " of the Hall.

Add 50 homers and 150 rbi's to his line due to those missed years, and Stanton would be much better positioned.

Agreed, but he's still just 32 and has time.

32-33 seems to be the age when many players start to fade. Given Stanton's injury history, it will be interesting to see what happens with him.

I agree on the age most decline. Maybe Stanton can have that super rare Tony Gwynn insane bump and have by far his greatest 4 year run from age 34 to 37.
