Thanks Paul. If it was a manager version I would have passed. That said, a type 4 manager version in worse shape went for $20,000 more.

FYI one thing people should be aware of who might have gotten PSA graded W600's last night(or anywhere else), the holders are pressed down very tightly, especially on the slightly thicker and textured surface type 4's. Many of the cabinets have shifted during mailing/shipping and were stuck to the front of the holder, then shifted, thus peeling the top layer of stock off on the edges.
DO NOT TRY TO TAP THEM BACK IN PLACE OR YOU RISK FURTHER DAMAGE. They really need to be either reholdered with the mylar insert or freed entirely. If you look as scans you can see where the cabinet originally rested and left traces of it's stock, which resulted in bare areas on the borders when it moved. ![]() Are there any other cabinet issues that have this problem with the PSA slab? Thanks for the forewarning! |

Not that I have seen. The type 4 W600's seem to be the worst, due to thicker stock and the textured surface. When jostled around they leave a cross hatch pattern where the top layer(colored portion) used to be. One of the ones I won, I just happened to have a before and after scan(holdering) and it really did a job on the cabinet, but if one was unaware they might not notice.

Wow, the first thing I was going to do was to tap the W600 Garvin back into place! Thanks for the advice.

Unfortunately the damage has already been done, so it might not hurt it further. You can see the white on the left edges and a little at the top, where the top layer has come off, traces of which are still on the inside of the holder. And I might amend my prior statement about it being the Type 4's, it appears to be evident on all of the different types.

I had a feeling Ryan was going for the Plow’s Cobb. In my opinion one of the most important cards in the hobby. After putting in an initial bid, I stopped. I’m glad Ryan got it as I already have one and the price is an absolute steal.
