I totally agree with this sentiment. I followed the Hunt auction today with great interest. Ticket stubs to memorable games but that are often available for sale or at auction (Ruth's called shot, Mays' catch, Wamby's unassisted triple play, for example) brought incredibly high prices. Clearly demand took over with little regard to scarcity.

By contrast, the stub from Feller's opening day no-hitter, which I cannot remember coming to market (I've seen only one other example, in a Cleveland collector's collection that's not going anywhere) sold for $8,000. Sure it's a strong price, but it pales in comparison to some other prices when you factor in how rare it is (and the fact the event is very, very memorable and historic).

Would be very interesting to see the profiles of some of the buyers.
