One of the coolest-ever football pennants, for sure. The graphic is awesome. Right up there with the 49ers goldpanner.

Yikes. This just sold. Definitely. Not. Vintage.

Cardboard label still attached …

Not thrilling at all, but my other example was faded blue and missing its tassels. Red sure holds up better than blue, huh?

P.S. the reproduction of this on the synthetic crap is quite prevalent.

No you’re wrong this is thrilling. Beautiful in its simplicity. Part of a great early 50s trench series.

Good to hear! I prefer the SF version with the batter. Wish I had that one in red!

Did any one pick up any of the pennants in the sale of Bob Feller's family?

This was a very cool variant with a fish tail tip. I was an underbidder on it.

Great pennant!

But I wonder if the “fishtail” wasn’t a repair of a bad tip?

I followed but underbid on the other two 1954s which went higher than I thought. I really want one with the classic chief graphic, not Wahoo. That’s a tough one. The one in the auction had a lot of fading.

This one with the flags … I have a fishtail version that may have been sold after ‘54, the whole date is chopped off. It was a throw in with another pennant. It looks better with the different color flags, I have it in better condition but with all white flags.
