I bought a turn of the century Notre Dame pennant with their label on it a few years ago. When I learned that the company was still in operation, I reached out and shared my purchase with them. They were pleased to see it. Today they only make flags and flag pole accessories. I asked when they last made felt novelties, and they really didn't know. She guessed they had stopped making pennants by the 1940s.... If I had to guess, this Braves pennant was likely made in 1952'ish, when everyone in Milwaukee had contracted Braves fever. I seriously doubt Eder made other pennants for other professional sports teams. Eder simply made it because they were the hometown pennant maker, and the demand existed. Most of their labels from the 1910s look like this one, below. Thanks for sharing!

I like their 2-color tassels. Not sure I have ever seen another company employ this.... but it's certainly a nice touch.

I agree, it’s a nice touch. Seems to be a characteristic of early 20th century pennants, you’ve seen these before (Tigers is not mine)

Did anyone here win this? What a beautiful pennant. 1949 roster. (Seller had it mistakenly listed as late 50s). These roster pennants have subtle differences in the handwriting style but this one IMO is best.

Kyle, you're explanation about the Braves fever of 1952 seems plausible to me. I wonder if they used old stock to make the pennants or if they still used that design for other pennants in the 1950s. I'd love to come across a product catalog from Eder from the 1950s.

Does anyone know of any pennants from any maker recognizing the 1953 World Series, or dated 1953 from either team? The only one that comes up in a google search is the rectangular Dodgers pennant similar to the ‘54 Indians that you see more frequently.

I don't think they made one that was sold inside the stadiums. If one was ever manufactured (of the true triangular variety), it was probably made/sold by a small street vendor.

The pickins are similarly scarce for 1952, I've noticed. There was a 1952-dated Brooklyn Dodgers WS champs (phantom) pennant made ... but was there an NL champs variant made for the bums in '52?? I think by 1953 the pennant makers and vendors were sick and tired of dated, unsold Dodgers vs. Yankees stock from prior years that they couldn't move. So they got smart and began omitting the years ... which would have served them well in '55 and '56 (and '63, '77, '78, and '81).
