Great looking cards no doubt about it.

Love the insane prices sucking up every single penny plus more with the “story”. But this guy has been around for years with his cigar boxes and countless stories.

Why grade when you can ask $5k on a $200 card. “I don’t need to squeeze every last cent…”.

Sure as hell seems that way.

Can you provide a link? Way too generic of a name to get any good results.

https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=77089
mentions Rod Rodriguez.

How do we know this ebay seller is the Rob Rodriguez discussed above who used to go by "waittilnextyear" on ebay? Did his name come up when someone won something? Obviously, its a common name.

If he has scammed in the past, albeit on a smaller scale, he might be going for the Power Ball of scams. Did he steal the scans? Graded cards cropped? IMO Ebay should be alerted to a jumbo fraud attempt.

I'm guessing he actually has the cards, or the scam wouldn't last very long. My initial suspicion was more like: altered cards or cards that present very nice for their grades, cracked out and hyped as "high grade".

If indeed a scammer, the seller sure has figured a way to excite the card collector with the below photo.

Amazing.

Legit and crazily priced. His 729k 52 Mantle he says is ex mint has a corner crease in the lower right corner. Probably a 3 and worth less than 10% of his asking price. I think his grading is several levels too high... Nice stuff though.

Yeah, definitely. His 52 Mays he describes as VG/EX has several creases. I think he's using ooooold school grading. haha.

Default Scammer indeed....

I just had quite a long talk with a very good hobby friend who is in the business. This guy Rodriguez is a 100% scammer. He probably has the stuff but has so many lies surrounding his deals it's just crazy. I guess he goes by "Mclane" also. Just a very long web of lies. Anyone doing business with this guy should get their part of the deal first. As far as I know he has screwed over several auction houses for 5 figure issues. He sounds like he is a lunatic. Most, if not all, auction houses have banned him from bidding. Stay away!!
