I'm sure all you collectors are very proud of your Hall of Famer t206 cards. It's true that Lee's auction did produce high prices on the SGC 45's that did get much higher prices. However if you really believe and I'm speaking from experience, that these cards are selling at PSA prices, your dreaming. The PSA registry is much higher than the SGC registry on t206 cards because they have been around a lot longer. The supply and demand leans much more in purchasing t206 cards that are PSA graded. Since these SGC portraits sold for such high prices, the PSA portraits are selling at higher prices. I'm sure you can also see it in other auction houses as well. As a dealer, I'm happy for the SGC collectors, but the PSA collectors should even be happier.

Please post the actual sales data for Joss, Evers, Walsh, Jennings, Tinker and Lajoie portraits in 4-4.5-5 to support your assertion that "the PSA portraits are selling at higher prices" than the SGC cards that were just sold.

You have to agree Nap looks good in a SGC holder. I wish all my cards were in SGC slabs. SGC built their name grading T206 cards.I Don’t understand why a registry guy would care about mid grade Common back T206 cards. But I don’t follow the registry trends.

For some people, collecting isn't about the cards; they've turned it into a competitive thing.

The monetary value between Psa and Sgc prewar cards (including T206’s) has narrowed considerably over the past few years and deservedly so.
Prewar collectors are now more so than ever valuing the card based on its condition and eye appeal no matter who’s slab it resides in (that being Psa or Sgc) It’s about time!!

I just threw up in my mouth a little (haha!!). Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'd take either Cobb portrait over that one. Just don't love the yellow of the port.

You're absolutely right Tony. It was a great auction and I was chasing several but they got too high for me. I ended up winning one (which I over-paid for, but who hasn't!). Very happy to add this one to my collection.
HOF Portraits are definitely not slowing down (SCG or PSA). Love the front of this one...not so much the back ![]() Bill
