I'm gonna go against the grain. Here's a post about a record that is primarily spoken-word.

Pictured below is an album cover with Babe Ruth. Outside of a vintage card forum, it would make zero sense. Hopefully, a few of you will appreciate a brief detour...away from music...over to an album. LOL

The record has some background music to support narration. During the portion devoted to of Babe Ruth, Take Me Out To The Ball Game plays in the background. Since that song resonates with me, it's what I'll use to bring the thread back to music.

Great thread. Carry on.

The band kicking in as Frank goes for the low note in "pray" is one of my favorites!

Sinatra was amazing. There are easily 10+ songs of his that would make my list of "favorites."

I Can Still Make Cheyenne - George Strait

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fl8mIULRYGA

I don't have any taste for the newer country music, I do love some George Strait though.

No recorded version of this song can hold a candle to the live experience.

I see my favorite rock song listed -- Can't You See -- although Free Bird a close second. Favorite ballad would be Adele's Someone Like You, which knocked Shirelles' Will You Love Me Tomorrow out of first place. As to Eva Cassidy, Fields of Gold (by Sting) is excellent.
