Default What is this? Folk art? Fake? Cap Anson and John Ward

No idea what this is. Hoping someone can offer an opinion. Has anyone seen this or anything like it before? I did some searches and could not find anything like it but may not have looked in the right place.

I did see a Helmet Cap Anson bowling alley padlock and key, but it was not anything like this. I was not able to find anything like this in my research. Do you know if you have an example of the Helmet you are thinking of?

Tom,
On eBay, search “Baseball Helmar Brewing Lock” and a good number of them will come up. They’ve been producing these for at least a few years.
