One of these cards from my Dots Miller collection has to be the winner unless I'm forgetting something

It's hilarious how the company must've thought, "Man, everyone uses the same darn picture of him holding the bat. Wait, I got it!! Have the art department leave his hands where they are, but airbrush out the bat and throw a mitt on his hand, so he looks like he's in the field. Oh, make him holding a ball, too. Problem solved!! It's just like having a different picture. Now, let's drink some scotch!!"

As far as I can tell there is only one of these graded by SGC and none by PSA. T215 Red Cross Purtell, Jersey City. And these other little "cards" don't show up too often so I assume they are pretty scarce as well.

Don't believe that was added. The shadows on the uniform front are completely different as well. Doubt they'd go to that trouble to airbrush in a glove and remove a bat, and then worry abount the shadows on the front. Those are two different images that oddly look a bit similar.

So jealous of the Venezuelan tattoo. It’s bizarre to me that we have yet to see another example from the set in the last ten years or whatever it’s been since you picked this one up. Did you by any chance ask the seller for any backstory they might have on it when you got it?

I think that Briggs uses the same image as the 1932 Sanella.

Probably this one:
[IMG] ![]() I don't know how many of these are out there, but there can't be very many. 1953 was Newsom's last season, and he died in 1962. I picked this up from Jim Stinson a few years ago.

![]() It would be this one now; Fox is depicted as a Phillie, but spent all of 1953 in the minors, resurfaced with Baltimore the following year, spent 1955 in the minors, then was murdered a couple days after the season ended.
