I won the lightweight champions lot, which I feel was one of the better bargains in the auction. I really wish they would break up the lots even more. The main item I wanted was buried in a large lot of cabinets. I still just don’t have the patience to buy a large lot, for just one card. The time it takes to research and sell the other cards online just isn’t worth it.

Definitely hear that. I'd have been happy with the lot I won busted into 4-5 lots.

Yes, I won 1137. I wanted the Sharkey in 1109. I’m not a big cabinet collector, but I’m looking for a really nice Sharkey cabinet to frame up, and hang in my office. I recently read the book ‘I fought them all’ and really liked it.

By any chance, do you happen to know a source with an affordable physical copy? It’s $295 on Amazon and over $50 on eBay. I have it on my list of books to read.

I used to own all 7 from the set; here are the other three:





Yours are the only examples I've seen outside the seven I catalogued years ago. Very nice pick-up.

Interesting tidbit: photos from this session have been attributed to Brady but Fox has an 1899 copyright in the negative. Wonder who stole what from whom?
