Let's see it.

Thanks, fellas. Sorry to clog up this thread with post-war. I did have a raw '33 Goudey Ruth #144 I let go of for $450 a few years ago. So there's that, too.

I have one, and the Gehrig also. Paid $500 for both in 1988. They are both among my very favorite cards.

Oh, yes. I remember that. For about a month we were selling the boxes at $5.00 at the store where I was working at the time. Suddenly, the prices began to go up and I got one of the last boxes we had at $25.00, plus I purchased a complete set with the stickers for not much money. I later got rid of both at one of our conventions back in 1990 for about $500, good money at the time. I didn't count on having a family and a mortgage when I let my collection go in 1991.

"A little centering??" Amazing that we've become so obsessed with centering that that's the focus rather than the massive, stock-breaking crease and whatever else is going on above his right eye. The photo looks like Mick is looking at it thinking "What the hell is that, why is it hovering so close to me, and is it potentially dangerous?"

Yeah, I'd say the new one looks better.

I try not to go there, and focus instead on everything I bought many years ago for a fraction of what they now go for, but that said, I can't quite get away from not having bought a 25 Gehrig, a Toleteros Gibson, and the other 311 variation.

HAHA! That made me laugh out loud. The badly creased card was SO CLEAN, apart from the heavy crease and rub above his eye. Also, you know when you let something go you later regret, you're flooded with memories of how great it was in retrospect (whether or not it actually was).

Looks like an upgrade to me. Congrats.
