That 53 Bowman of Minoso is a beautiful card. The whole set is gorgeous, and Minoso's is just one example.

Have not bought any of their cards recently but as a set collector if they have a Topps, Bowman or Fleer card I think I have it

I bought several Minoso cards over the last year leading up to this. I like these two the best:

Yesterday before the announcement I bought several more. I had planned to chase after them anyway-I've been going through the Standard Catalog looking for tough obscure cards of players I collect then searching for them on eBay-but decided to BIN them before the sellers tripled the prices. Glad I did.

Puzzling photo of Minnie on the '55 Bowman card: Looks like he is in a bunting pose, but if that's a dugout behind him, how does it have a TV set playing? Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread.

According to ebay asking prices, minoso now 2nd most valuable card in the low series under May's. Good luck with that

Default Missed opportunity

I was set up at the Valley Forge show over the weekend and no one pulled the trigger on a nice 52 I was offering nor any of the 6 1950's and 60's certified autographed Minoso cards I was offering!

I am actively buying and selling vintage sports cards graded and raw. Feedback as a buyer: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=297262

I am accepting select private consignments of quality vintage cards (raw or graded) and collecting "want" lists for higher end ($1K+) vintage cards.

I've tried to stay ahead of elections...which, of course, is relatively easy in most cases. I'll buy at least a few of likely candidates, though I had to scramble with Mazeroski and then Baines.

Yeah, I don't remember my baseball coaches ever saying "So, when you want to get a bunt down, you wait for the pitch with the bat approximately parallel to the ground at shoulder level, with the knob stuck under your right armpit. Your thumb should be wrapped around the bat so that it will get smashed by an inside pitch."

Me neither, but the image is unusual and quite striking.

This one is still my favorite:

I picked up this raw 1952 Topps Minoso earlier this year in anticipation of his selection.

I think his 52 Bowman is visually far superior to his 52 Topps. Artistically, the Topps is just not a well conceived card IMO.
