REDUCED Malcolm Emmons Type 1s (Kareem, Namath, Gibson, Bench, etc)

I'm listing five Malcolm Emmons Type 1 photos here. My plan is to send these and some other photos to auction, but maybe somebody here could use them in their collections. So I'll give this a try first.

For anyone not familiar with his work, Emmons is probably the premier post-war sports photographer. Certainly he is among the most collectible. And, to my eye, these first three are truly exceptional examples of his work. These three photos are each encapsulated and authenticated by PSA. The large slabs don't fit fully on my flatbed scanner, so I've attached scans of the front and backs of each photo and the PSA label (but not the entire slabbed item). All of the photos are roughly 8x10".

1. 1960s Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul Jabar). One of my favorite images of young Alcindor/Kareem (playing for UCLA). Based on notations, I believe this image to be from the 1966-67 season (Kareem's college rookie year), but PSA has simply identified it as 1960s. Although I don't own a copy of the book, a Doubleday tag on the back suggests that this image was used in the Modern Encyclopedia of Basketball. In any event, an extraordinary photo and the first Emmons I ever purchased. GONE

2. 1960s Bob Gibson portrait. Crystal clear and intense portrait of Gibson at the height of his powers. Marked "Lead Picture" on the back, although I do not have a record of which publication this refers to. Emmons worked as a staff photographer for The Sporting News, so that is likely. GONE

3. 1970s Johnny Bench. Terrific photo of Bench as he appears to be staring down a runner. $600 $450
