No.....

I'd like the Braves to win in 5, or 6. And have a combined no hitter tonight.

Doug, as someone once told me, You're not a Baseball fan.

It shocked me, then he told me that I was a fan of 19th and 20th century baseball, but not in these crazy times of 21st century baseball with the expensive tickets, expensive MLBP licensing for ball cards and such, $9 beer, and such...

I'm just amazed that a 74 year old flute playing progressive rocker managed to pitch five no-hit innings in the world series.

These are the types of games I enjoy. Low scoring pitchers duals where every pitch and at bat counts because each one can change the game dramatically

I dunno, I can't seem to stay awake past the 7th inning any more.

Also, after about 3 innings I need the mute button to block out Joe Buck's voice.

Game has changed, but so has football and basketball. All things must change. I thought his move pulling the pitcher last night was spot on genius. But clearly it rankled a lot of people.

Older I get more I just appreciate the game. I used to stop watching baseball once the season ended and my team was done. But in last 5 years or so I’ve gotten very into the post season. So many amazing stories. Sniker. Dusty. I loved last nights game and will be sorry when baseball is gone for a number of months.

But baseball matters.

I'm philosophically opposed to sports with clocks.

And sports where the size of a single player controls the outcome of an entire game.

Some of those classic rockers really are ageless. The Stones played here last week, and my buddy forwarded me this picture of Keith Richards and Betty White:

Yoda
Steve Jordan is replacing Charlie Watts for this tour . He has been a successful session drummer for years , I believe he is about 62 years old . He also is the drummer for Keith Richards' other band The X - Pensive Winos. He'll never replace Watts and he's not really trying to , he just wants to keep up Watts' and the Stones' music and legacy. From the reviews it seems he's doing a good job too since he's been familiar with the Stones' music for years.

Baseball just takes too long these days but yet I watch it because I love the game and all of its subtleties . Almost 4 hours per game , I remember 2 hour games growing up and the grumblings from fans when the games started to hover around the 2 1/2 hour mark. TV and relief pitching have the changed the game so much that an NFL game is almost less time.
Also where are the bunts and hit and run plays ?
Buck IMO hates silence , he always has to say something and IMO Smoltz has to plan his entry into the conversation because Buck just doesn't stop talking to let anyone else talk.

GO BRAVES !!!

It took a long, long time but teams finally figured out those plays are a waste of time.

Before he passed, I don't believe that Charlie was planning on playing on this tour (the 40th anniversary tour of their 1981 Farewell Tour, by the way) and he was the guy who picked the replacement. I think. Too lazy to google it.

Smoltz isn't bad but I can't stand Buck. That said...

Y'all realize that neither the government nor the 'entertainment cartel' hasn't mandated that if the picture is on the sound must be on as well, right?
Maybe put on Dark Side of the Moon to see if the music syncs up with the game?

When I turn 60 do I automatically have to start arguing that every

major sport
holiday
restaurant
news show
tv comedy
movie
book
album release
singer
band
play
household appliance
new home construction
educational system
hair cut
young person
vacation
etc.

is nowhere near as great as it was when I was young. Is that the law. Is it on the books somewhere? Just need to prepare myself.

$9 beer...that's a deal at California venues!
Braves fan since 1991 (9yrs old). Now I've got my 10yr old son glued to the games with me, pretty awesome
We youtubed game 7 of the 1992 NLCS (Sid Bream's game winning slide to beat Bonds throw home) as a warm-up to game 4. My son couldn't believe it when Doug Drabek, Pittsburghs starting pitcher, was still pitching in the 9th inning with a pitch count over 125 LOL. What a different game.

When the commissioner of Major League Baseball hates the sport of baseball, of course the sport is going to suffer. That incompetent, anti-baseball a-hole is going to run the MLB into the ground. He either completely oblivious to what makes baseball so great, or loathes what makes baseball so great. Regardless, the sport will not grow as it should under his guidance.

I hope the Braves win tonight so he and the rest of the people behind the decisions to not punish the Trashstros and pull the All Star Game from Atlanta have to watch their golden child Trashstros lose and the city of Atlanta celebrate.
