Hi Ted.....please don't misconstrue my comments.....I, in no-way, meant to be critical.

It's amazing how (in the pre-war era and the post-war era) the inconsistencies in this hobby regarding "rookie" cards. Best example is the 1951 BOWMAN vs the 1952 TOPPS Mantle.
As a kid in the Fall of 1951, I acquired Mantle's 1st BOWMAN card. In the Fall of 1952, I acquired Mantle's 1st TOPPS card. I got back into this hobby in 1977, the hobby then claimed
Mantle's "rookie" card was the 1952 TOPPS card. I did not understand

Incidentally, speaking about GUM cards, Jackie's 1st gum card is not the 1949 LEAF card, but the 1948 SWELL GUM card.

Perhaps, I should break-up my SWELL GUM set and sell this JRobby. On ebay, they are asking "crazy" $$$$$ for it
