Sad News -- Rich Altman

RIP Rich. He was at the National. How did he pass? Was it COVID or something else?

Rip Rich. I remember Rich from my teenage years in south Florida. And I’m 51 now! Condolences to his family and friends.

RIP. Still have the Jim Brown cards he sold me at the last Cleveland show.

I remember years ago he was set up for a show in St louis-On his table sitting one beautiful sealed box of the 1986 fleer basketball--to this day I still think about and remember his asking price for the box!--

I thought he was very professional which goes a long way with me. We talked at the National. We were bemoaning a bit the fact that Bill Russell retired from signing as we both had 1956 Olympic programs that could use his signature. Happy to say I have 3 of his signatures from 1956 signed either at or on the way to the Olympic Games.

Nice guy, class act. Down to earth, always enjoyed talking to him at shows. Loved that gravelly voice of his. RIP and thank you, Rich, for serving the hobby so well over many years.
