Default Step back into time....a 1963 General Store untouched since 1963!

Abandoned Store Left in 1963 | Everything is Still Inside | Time Capsule | Destination

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xi3eeSZFfCw

Really cool step back in time. Does anyone see anything sports related?

At the beginning I can see some Post Cereal boxes on the top shelf. Not sure if there are cards on the back as they only show the front.

Saw a Hockey Boxed game towards the end that has Canadiens and Leafs on cover. Saw a bunch of older tobacco tins but did not spot anything but curious if anyone sees something I missed?

Every time he went to a different part of the store I was expecting to see unopened wax boxes! Did not see any however!

Hope someone catches something I missed!

Really cool time capsule!

Peace, Mike

PS :
- 1 cent cending machine at .27 but it's empty so not sure what was in it?
- Cereal boxes on top shelf at 1:01 (store in in Canada so not sure if Post 1963 Baseball cards were in Canada? They could have come from the states I guess?)
- Cigar and Tobaccco stuff starts at 12:37
- Split second look at cereal on top shelf and you clearly see a Rice Chex box and a Post box to the left of it
- NHL Hockey Game at 21:11

Very cool that everything is so well preserved. But it's a bit annoying that the videographer passes so quickly over many of the cool period advertising pieces and seems to focus more time and effort on less interesting items.

Just my personal take. Still an intriguing and great post... many thanks for taking the time to do so!

Looks cleaned up or restocked from boxes in storage.

Why would a general store that was in operation until 1963 have a copy of Life from 1949 on sale?

At first I thought the same thing but then after he mentioned it was also a gas station and people came through on horses at times, it probably became sort of a trading post type of store.

It did have a mailing label on the Life, maybe a townsperson traded it for something or just brought it in and left it. I imagine living that far out there that anything was of some value so they probably did not throw away much!

I think they collected all kinds of knick knacks like that it appears to me anyways.

Good catch though!

Mike
