Along with Cravath, it seems like Williams is in that unfortunate group who were held in very high regard by their contemporaries, fans and sportswriters but have mostly been forgotten to time. Guessing there will never be any phone calls coming from Cooperstown at this point.

There are several dead ball era players, including Cravath, as well that people speak about quite frequently as being overlooked.
