I don't think the $1,000 is that out of line, looking at the eBay sold item sales for complete sets. I'd price a bit higher, but the #68 is the vast majority of the value of a set.

I personally really like this set and have 79 of them, but it's very common and not very popular (even #68 is actually not that hard at all. The market does not suggest $2,000 is likely to happen.

I was also thinking $800-$1000 at the most. It has been a little over a year but I sold a complete graded NrMint average set and didn't get much more than $2000.

Looking at the results, the way to sell is to sell 68 separate and then a 1-79 set. That seems to net much more. $800 is still $10 a card average, which is more than most of them are worth, which seems about right. The supply is so large and interest so small, I don't see this set ever achieving much value. I put my 79 card set together, F-EX raw, for $217 according to my records. This set is nicer, but I can't find a similar set selling for close to $2K. I'm a fan of the Fleer 59-63 issues, cheap and fun sets to put together and flip through

There are a lot of interesting and off beat Fleer baseball related sets between 1964 and 1980 as well.
