Here's an amusing one. What happened to Al Kaufman's top? Did the artist get 3/4 through painting his shirt and decided there wasn't enough nipple on this card? Was he portraying Kaufman shirtless, and then realized it would be easier to just color fill in half his body? The E77's were a marked step up in quality from the awfully generic E75/E76 cards, but this one is such a bad card, that I like it.

Kaufman's claim to fame is being one of the contender cans Jack Johnson destroyed during his title reign in a heavily lopsided bout. Johnson doesn't seem to have held much interest in defending his title against strong competition, beating middleweights, light heavyweights, cans, mediocre heavyweights and a retired and a washed up old champ in his title defenses, while Jeanette and Langford were left without a title shot. Kaufman became an actor after calling it quits.

Yeah, that's a weird ass card.

Thumbs up The Little Giant of Hanover

Nice JJ RC, Herb.

Thanks Adam, Johnson was my first boxing card.

Burns gave Johnson an opportunity.

Thanks Adam. Australia tonight. 1949 issue by Victorian Nut Supplies. Two cards of Louis but with different backs. There’s three different back variations known. In my opinion, the advert back is super rare. Still haven’t got them all yet.

A second c. 1910 card I find amusing. The artist didn't get lazy this time, but I must question the life decision to tat a big red sailboat on your chest.

Deshler was a journeyman whose W/L is about 50/50, but he did fight Packey McFarland to a draw in 1909 when McFarland was racking up a huge string of victories against pretty good guys. He was a good fighter when his card was produced. This is the T219 cropping.

It's a postcard!

It's a flip book!

It's a postcard!

It's a flip book!

It's a postcard, you jackhole!

Wait, the 1906 Winthrop Moving Picture Post Card of George Dixon vs. Chester Leon is a postcard AND a flip book.

I don't appear to have any Tyson's besides Kayo/Ringlords everyone has. So here's some Buster Douglas instead to stay on theme

And now for something completely different...

Just kidding, it's more boxing. This time a couple of hand-tinted RPPCs of French HOFers:

This is a bizarre premium I picked up several years ago for the local connection:
