Correct me if I'm wrong here.
Screwdown holders (without a recessed area) can flatten out the corners of a card over time. This compression will lengthen and widen certain areas of the card slightly. Card doctors will hasten this process through pressing the corners. They will then trim the card back down to its "normal" length and width. # # # Seems like a valid reason to assign the scarlet letter to cards with corners thinner than the rest of the card.
