Yes he would have. Me personally, I have no desire to pay $300 to send in a fake. It has only happened once, when I got burned on a Satchell Paige rookie that was a fake. It was one of the best fakes I have ever seen. I bought it raw from a famous pawn shop on TV that will remain nameless.

To me it seems like a tactic some sellers use on Ebay...send in an obvious fake card, get one of these labels back from PSA, then list card with label showing in hopes that a buyer/buyers think that the '?' after authenticity is actually PSA not being sure if the card is legitimate or not, instead of it most definitely not being authentic.

Shame on PSA for having that ridiculous question mark. And of course shame on all those slimy sellers out there working this angle.

Yes - exactly what I thought. They should be labeled as "Not Authentic" instead of "?AUTHCTC".

First time I have ever seen this designation -

I think the ?authentct is just shorthand for Questionable Authenticity...

And very questionable judgement on PSA's behalf for utilizing this shorthand.
