HA, all wrong. The cards are not box parts, they are machine cut. I've handled several of them and they are uniform and smooth. The image of Jeffries is from after he lost most of the weight preparing for the Johnson fight. The image comes from the copyrighted 1909 photos taken by Sarony for the Pictorial News Co. for its PC series.

Definitely not handcut. These are scarce, but far from rare and of those I've seen, they all seem consistent in size. I wouldn't rule out tobacco insert except for Adam having seen them in a candy box.

Anyone have a picture, or own the box? It's a pretty small boxing world, I'd love to see it purely for curiosity's sake.

I've always thought these were machine cut, especially now with one here to look at closely in hand as much as I want.

One of the few "sets" where I think the Jeffries card is nicer looking than the Johnson.

Wasn't a long wait to finish. $38 for Jeffries, ~$75 for Johnson. Not bad I think, a raw poor Johnson sold for $200 and a SGC 1.5 for $301 on eBay this month. Johnson being worth 500% of Jeffries makes little sense to me, but then again most card prices don't!
