Condition is off, but not enough to kill its desirability, IMO. As the saying goes, "find another one." Cobb and Johnson, with Evers thrown in? Portraits and action shots? Multi-color? Killer piece.
Great point, and yes, double-sided glass, maybe with a hinge that can allow you to rotate it or something would be really neat. I think I’m going to put it up for auction, but not sure if I should use an auction house or do it on eBay. Either way I appreciate the feedback and if anyone else knows anymore about this piece, or who made them I would be very grateful.

I'm not sure you could get it into a major auction due to condition, and eBay can fall through the cracks and be a big disappointment. I'm guessing you didn't pay much for it, if it was mine I'd put it up on the B/S/T at a price you'd be happy with, and you can always take offers. Guess I have a lot of time on my hands today, just full of unsolicited advice! Anyway, thanks for sharing it with us, and good luck!

Lol, it’s been very helpful and solicited so no problem at all! It’s condition is a bit beat up around the edges, but overall I think it’s fairly decent. Plus, the ability to still touch and feel the fabrics they used back then makes this a really unusual piece.

Not THAT unusual, however. There have been many similar pieces in auctions, at shows, on eBay, etc., over the years. I will hold on my estimate of its value, and on the idea that many auctions wouldn't carry it because of condition.

Try to sell it here. There’s no commission on either side of the sale. An Ebay listing could fall through the cracks as Hank suggested. Nobody uses the key search words that it would likely take to pull up this listing... unless you go really vague, with words like “Antique” “Vintage” “Baseball” and “Uniform”.

Not many major auction houses will take it, so why not try here? I have seen these go for about $250 on eBay when all the swatches are present. So I don’t believe the value would warrant anything beyond Mears or perhaps Hunts’ monthly Internet Auction.

Best of luck, whichever route you take.

Ok, so I’ve decided to sell this piece along with opening up a lot of my collection here in the coming week (so a lot of T206, and various other cards).

Thanks!
