There is nothing wrong with that item. The seller is incorrect on its age, however. It's a later career example.

I don't claim to be an expert by any means, but have never seen the M that large. Or the little curl/circle in the letter c. But everything else about it does look good.

It's fine. I've been at this a long time.
Mantle was still experimenting with his M's at this point in time. You see a lot of different styles and yes, even the odd sizing difference. The classic Mantle autograph that most are familiar with didn't really solidify until quite a bit later on--early 1970's. Mantle had nearly developed his autograph to the way he ultimately wanted it by the tail end of his playing days, but there were some rather nuanced adjustments still to be made.
