It’s like the first time you turn on an oldies station and hear a song off an album you bought when it came out.

Also, if you still listen to radio, you’re probably old.

Here are 3 potential definitions of prewar, from most expansive to most restrictive with example cards from each decade:

PreWW2 - represented by cards from 7 different decades: 1941 Play Ball (beats US involvement in WW2), 1933 Goudey, 1921 E121 National Caramel, 1911 D310 Pacific Coast Biscuit, 1903 E107 Breisch-Williams, 1895 N300 Mayo Cut Plug, and 1887 N172 Old Judge.

PreWW1 - just the D310, E107, N300 and Old Judge.

Pre-Spanish American War of 1898 - represented only by the Old Judge card.

This reminded me of the card below, which near as I can tell features 1B "Long George" "High Pockets" Kelly. Not "M". Not Kelley. And not Pitcher. They got his team correct, so one out of four. Decent day at the plate, but not very good fact presentation.

Yup. I remember going through the same thing with my cards from the late 60's to early 70's. My nephew asked me if I had cards from my youth, and I said "Yeah", and brought them out. Then he showed me a price guide, and I was shocked.
I distinctly recall thinking at the time "These things can't have a price tag attached. They're not old... everyone must still have theirs."
That was the late 80's, and I got hooked again right away.
