You're correct. Probably 80% of topics on the prewar page belong in the watercooler section. Tpg and auction house complaints would consume it.

After checking, I was wrong. It's about 50%.

I like the vibe of both the pre-war and post-war forums, I like them separate since they have different energy on each forum. If we're talking about cards specifically pre-war belongs here, post-war belongs there. I agree wholeheartedly that we should all be telling more stories about baseball and collecting whether it's pre or post war.

Generally, when you make a non-T206 pre-war post lately on the forum it gets about 300-400 views and quickly disappears from the front page with little community input. There is nothing wrong with T206 but that seems to be the life blood of this forum if I'm being honest.

The threads that stick around tend to be the ones that have the most controversy, calling out bad dealers, scams, etc.

My general feeling is the further away from pre-war the more OT something is on the front page. If the subject has to do with WWII or before, even tangentially, it can usually stay. A 1952 Topps question should go in the post war section but it's not that far away from Pre War so many times they can stay. And an occasional off topic, by a frequent poster, is mostly ok. It would be nice if more members started good Pre-war card threads but it is what it is.

Pre WWII baseball cards and threads are most appreciated.

Hey Leon, I know that "every thread needs a card", but I have a question...is there any rhyme or reason to the cards you choose? Do you have a playlist? Is it completely random? Do you see a thread (pun intended) with the card and the topic? Inquiring minds want to know. . (Am I the only inquiring mind? )

As I count them, at least pertaining to what us Pre-War guys do, there are far fewer than 50% OT.

Show me 49.7% that have no ancillary interest crossover to Pre-War? I count less than a handful that have none....

Calm down. When on the front page last night I used my fingers and toes. I guess if you count auction site issues, tpg complaints, etc. as ancillary then you're right. I'm wrong, you're right. Feel better?
