I guess I cannot play this game. I only have $3.00 burning a hole in my pocket to spend. So, A box of 1988 Donruss or a box of 1988 Topps? Tough choice.........

You forgot option 3 - light the $3 on fire. Less environmental impact than the inevitable burning of the 88 donruss.

I own versions of these two cards and I would flat out decline any offer for $300k; I would probably reject $400k. So, to be able to buy them both at $300k is a no brainer. And BTW, the Ruth and Gehrig on Goldin are, together, already above $340k with buyers premium, so option B is not a realistic option.
