I would expect it to be $250-300 if auctioned today but plus/minus a big margin of error.
The best offer option on eBay has been around much longer than that. In 2017, eBay began allowing you to put it on auction style listings, where prior to that it was only an option for fixed price listings.

Looks fantastic with the matting. I’m glad you elected to have the tassels out flat rather than curled under. I think it looks much better even though it increases the price due to more frame needed. I’ve been there.

Chris,
I’ll take a shot at it. The Bucks champions pennant is a little bit tougher than the All Star pennant. I would say about $50 for that one and $30 for the All Star one. The real jewel is the AFL / NFL Super Bowl pennant. You didn’t mention that one.

Yup.... you're talking 4 figures for that one.

Does anyone know if there was ever a Super Bowl I pennant made/sold at the game, in Los Angeles? I've only seen that one depicting the final score, which I presume was made in the 1980s or so....

I've never seen an AFL-NFL Championship pennant for "Super Bowl" one. I believe they sold individual pennants of the Chiefs and Packers with the designation "AFL Champions" and "NFL Champions" at the game, but nothing with both that I know of.

The pennant you refer to is definitely ugly and stiff enough to be from the 80s. I've seen it sell for a couple hundred bucks and I've seen it sell for under $20. I think it's a mystery to collectors.

Thanks Jason. Yes the football one is great. Different poster and he didn’t ask for valuation help.

I have been trying to obtain this particular Cubs pennant for some time with no luck. It seldom comes on the market. It’s obviously peculiar due to the artist using Ebbets Field in place of Wrigley. The Dodger pennants using this graphic are much more plentiful and based on the dated ones, I would assume they would date from late 40s to mid 50s. Anyone have any thoughts or other information on these?

Very nice Mike. That is a tough one, especially not faded or torn. Right on with dates.

Interesting. The style of the Cubs pennant does not look like Trench, which is where the Ebbets graphic originated (I think). Very cool though.

Speaking of Super Bowl pennants, anyone know what’s going on here, besides the obvious? Is this the only SB3 pennant that isn’t dedicated to a team?

What’s written after the “L” (in your tiny little picture)?

LOL...It's '69. The year in which Super Bowl III was played. As for what's going on...Super Bowl III was the first one in which the NFL used the name Super Bowl. The only other Super Bowl III pennants I can think of are the individual Colts and Jets pennants. Unlike "Super Bowl" II and most Super Bowls from IV on, there's no pennant featuring both teams for Super Bowl III...unless it's yet to be discovered. Maybe they all designated the 17 point favorite Colts the champs and had to be destroyed.

There are other generic Super Bowl pennants like the ones Greg shared, but they aren't dated so hard to pin down which game they're from.

I think you’re gonna have to take them on your phone and send them to your desktop computer.

Some nice prices realized. I was underbidder on the Red Sox. My snipes didn't even register on the others (1946-47-48-49 World Series).

Anybody here fork over the required cash?

I was probably under you on that one. I bid on a couple others too. I thought the 47 was nice, don't see that around much. Those 46's were nice as well. I have that 56 in my collection already, but i though some of them went very reasonable. Nice condition all throughout.

I got the ‘49. The scarcity + condition made it too hard to resist. Already have ‘46 and ‘47. Was underbidder on the ‘48. ( ‘46 and ‘48 are early Keezers, very cool.)

I always get nervous after the auction, worried that the price was elevated due to just one other bidder. But three other snipes were over $1000 US, not too far from the final price. So that was somewhat comforting.

That's pretty funny Greg. If it's any solace even when there looks like there was only one other bidder, there actually could be many others whose snipes were a second after the underbidder and a dollar short. Those won't register on eBay.

The strange thing about that 1949 version is that usually the first team "Yankees" is the home team for the pennant, but it shows Ebbets Field. You would have outbid me, but that's what kept me from bidding as I only pick up Yankees pennants

Interesting ... is there a ‘49 version with Yankee Stadium?

Your observation might only pertain to a certain manufacturer. Like the ‘55 and ‘56 WS pennants that show the traditional Yankees logo and the Brooklyn cap ... they each have two versions with teams flipped. But I’m not sure Trench did this. The ‘55 pennant with fancy spine and forked tip comes in two colors but in each it is Yankees above Dodgers, in every version I’ve seen. Anyone else have info? I’m curious now ... thanks for info!

Speaking of two-team WS pennants ... I wonder what years have such pennants (known)? I know this goes back to A’s/Giants with the cool Ben Franklin pennant. But does anyone know if there are WS pennants for 1952 or 1953?

Ebay, with few exceptions, has been a wasteland for months. Compound that with all the extra home computer time the ebay trolls have due to covid and the competition for fresh meat is fierce. Everything good, listed as buy it now, is gone in 60 seconds.

Kind of sad, because I used to be the one getting them.

Typically now, when something good does show up, it's listed auction style. For a few years, auctions almost became obsolete on ebay. At one point Ebay planned for more of an Amazon type business plan, moving away from the auction format. But then something changed and they started offering hundreds of free auction style listings each month. Now auctions are back full force.

I prefer the auctions, only started making offers and checking more often in spare time because I was missing out. I’d notice cool pennants vanish immediately and then resurface a few weeks later as GREAT EYE APPEAL. Some of us are collectors and others are immediately flipping for a profit. I’m not saying it isn’t ethical, of course not. But those of us in the first category are more or less “forced” into it by the latter.

Totally agree...If you can't beat'em you've got no choice but to join'em. Strike first ask questions later (as you well know ).

There was a Rod Carew ASCO picture pennant listed for $42 BIN today. I noticed it about 5 minutes after it listed and knew it was gone. Sure enough.

I predict a Monday evening ending auction along with several other rare pennants. Just a gut feeling.

Yeah we’ll see a curtain call for Rod Carew soon, no doubt.

Speaking of ASCO player pennants, here’s something I picked up recently, not really my cup of tea but I got this way way under the asking price. I think the price was so high no one bothered with it. Anyway, the darn thing is virtually mint. I might put it up as trade bait on B/S/T but more and more I think it’s pretty cool.

Those are definitely pricey. I just can't bring myself to pay that kind of money for a mini pennant. Definitely cool though. And you can't go wrong with Packers. Someone will want it for sure.
