Nice catch! Gernert not Kiely. Thanks. Incredible ID on Herrin. I've never heard of thim.

You pitched a strong game, I just came in in the 9th and closed it for you

Gernert jumped right out for me because I have both his 1952 Topps card and the 2010 Topps Lineage autograph version, so that exact picture is familiar to me, haha.

I didn't know who Herrin was either, looks like he only pitched 14 games in 1954, but was promoted highly enough as a rookie in Spring Training to get his own picture pack card. I'm versed enough in Red Sox uniform styles that with some picture research I was able to determine his hat came from a 2-3 year span in the mid-50s, so it was a matter of looking through the database of picture pack photos from those years to find the exact Herrin picture pack card.
