What the heck. It won't happen but my goal is to get at least one of the two T220 Silver Borders that I'm missing for my set. If you know the set you know which ones those two are!

My goal is to buy cards and memorabilia that are meaningful and make me happy. Don't care if it's worth a lot or a little.

And not to end up buying a lot of things that I look back on a month later and ask "why?... why?... can I sell this to get rid of it?"

I also hope to support good people who are pleasant to work with who make the hobby a better place to hang out. Scott R. Scott B. Al C.

I totally agree with this strategy and the goal to make collecting more fun based going forward.

I just started collecting Yankees stadium/facsimile signed balls from the 50's and 60's. Inexpensive and very fun.

T-213 Type 1 and 3 Yankees and a Rose PC Yankee here I come.

I have also enjoyed the many transactions with board members, and look forward to more in the future.

If I can add five more signed 1953 Topps that I don't already have it will be a win. I was outbid on one last month, and it had been a few months since I saw any I needed, so this may not be feasible, especially with how crazy prices have been.

Would like to pick up that 1930's 4-in-1 Exhibit with both Gehrig and Dimaggio.
But its gotta look nice. I passed on couple already due to flaws. Maybe too picky.

I didn’t get there; I only picked up two. If I had gotten five that would’ve brought me to 263, so I’ll renew this one for next year.

If prices stay up, sell off most of my collection. I would like to pick up a Wagner, E95 preferred and fill in any holes in my Clemente collection, but other than those two I am losing interest in the hobby as prices sky rocket.

Based on the Goals I set in March of 2021 it looks like I exceeded my goals with 4 Adv Backs and 1 Card from each of his Ruths Early Year cards (did not specify how many or what years)
Then added some others so I am happy with the 2021 as it closes out.
Funny never thought to look back. Value on these threads We can.

2022 will be a slower year for me on cards but the focus continues relatively speaking (the change is any playing day cards of Joe Jackson and 1920's cards for Ruth)

This year I'm limiting myself to three goals. Hopefully I can stick to it.

1. Upgrade a dozen or so cards that bother me in my 71 Topps ungraded set.

2. Complete a couple of full runs of autograph cards I've been working on. One card left for Monte Irvin and one for Larry Doby. A few other sets need two or three.

3. Hunt down some cards in a fairly obscure Japanese gum pack set I'm working on. There are 120 or so cards in the set, a handful of which are still unknown or at least not reported on any checklist. I have 64 of the cards including 8 of the 12 short-run cards (working theory). I'm hoping to add 5-10 this year.

This. This. This. Every year I say I'm going to sell or give away loads of accumulated cards that really don't speak to me. But I never do...just too much work. If I were smart, I would just admit that I probably won't unload that stuff but I could STOP BUYING things that I don't really need.

Buy a card for $1000 that on the day I plan to retire I can sell for $500,000.

Yep, that's a goal. Call me shallow and a blight on the hobby.

Vanquish my opponents and bathe in their blood. No, wait, that's my law office to-do list.

I will settle for a trip to the National.

Default Just six cards

Doesn’t matter who. Just six T206s with Howe McCormick's stamp on the back.

Prices of cards in general have just gone nuts. Far outpacing my salary. So any six commons. And the first should arrive next Tuesday. So really down to five.

Default discipline!

I will keep an eye out for some E135's that are missing from my accumulation, and maybe one or two 1921 Koesters (E-121's), if they are available. I will also try to focus on the baseball bats that fit my collection.... one or two more Pirates bats from 1925-27 and three more from the ill-fated 1938 team... a handful of Giants bats from the late teens and early 1920's. Discipline is good ... but oh those targets of opportunity are hard to resist. Without meaning to, I also started collecting bats from the 24-25 Senators last year.

I'd love to complete my Dots Miller run...I'm 1 away.

In addition to that continue to buy ruth/cobb cards and any other raw cards I like/want for my binders!

As of Monday of this week, number six of the year arrived. Missed another Tuesday that was a BIN on eBay that I could have afforded, but guess that would have been just greedy.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to everyone on Net54.
